Chuck Black, a frequent contributor to NSG’s Thruster Monthly Market Tracking Report, particularly on NewSpace developments in Canada, tells me he will be attending the upcoming 65th International Astronautical Congress. The IAC2014 will take place in Toronto, Ontario from September 29th – October 3rd, 2014.

I’ll be giving two presentations (the first on the topic of “Strategic Planning for Space Advocates: Lessons Learned form the Early US Pro-space Movement and 1980’s Canadian Advocacy” which I wrote and “100 Years of Aerospace History in Canada: From McCurdy to Hadfield,” which I didn’t write, but will present as a favor to the authors, Robert Godwin from Apogee Books and the late Canadian space pioneer Phil Lapp).

Chuck will also participate in other events taking place during the IAC2014, including a Fred Ordway Tribute, International Meetups and a Space Art Exhibition all organized by the Canadian Space Society. He will also be on a panel discussion at the 2014 International Lunar Explorer Galaxy Forum.

So he will be quite busy at the Congress but says he will still

have enough time to buy a beer for anyone who comes up and says “I read your Point-To-Point Canada column in Thruster!”

Hopefully, that won’t bankrupt me 😉
